

Rachel and Rose founded Supervision Academy, LLC to fulfill a professional need in the global ABA community. Supervision Academy provides remote-based supervision for those pursuing BCBA or BCaBA certification. Using a virtual, individualized and team-based approach, Supervision Academy is a training agency that provides access to high quality supervision to professionals seeking certification that may not have access to local or within agency supervisors; or those wanting additional training too.
Rose Griffin, M.A. CCC/SLP, BCBA, COBA, is a practicing speech language pathologist and board certified behavior analyst. Over the past twenty years, Rose has helped her students in the public school setting and clinical setting, find their voice and become more independent communicators. Rose is an invited speaker, podcaster, product developer and online course creator. Her mission is to help all students strengthen their speech and language skills. Rose’s podcast, Autism Outreach, provides helpful information that professionals and parents can use to help students become more effective communicators. Rachel Torrance, MEd, BCBA, COBA, serves as serves as Assistant Regional Vice President at Accessing Abilities Powered by Cultivate Behavioral Health and Education. She is also co-owner of Supervision Academy, LLC and is self-employed as an expert witness in her areas of specialty. Rachel holds certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) and Intervention Specialist. Working in the field since 1998, Rachel has held positions as an educator, consultant, behavior analyst, director, business owner, and trainer. She is a board member of Milestones Autism Resources. Rachel regularly presents to parents and professionals locally and has also spoken at the state and national level. Rachel is committed to disseminate practical and efficient evidence-based methods to help build functional life skills, increase desired behaviors with as much independence as possible and help others achieve life outcomes.

Participants will:
1. Learn tools they can use at the onset of supervision in order to increase trainee’s understanding of BACB mandates for obtaining supervision hours.
2. Be able to describe how to structure a session to maximize meeting trainee’s needs and ensure elements of the task list are covered during the course of supervision.
3. Be able to define the importance of written feedback within the supervision process.
Summary:
Stellar supervision is essential to the growth of the professional pursuing certification and also to foster the field of ABA. In this presentation, we will review practical components that we have found effective in our supervision. Participants will learn additional tools and considerations that they can use in their own practice.
